In the framework of the B-WISE project, the partners are currently doing case studies to prepare scenarios and personas of WISEs workers with a specific focus on digital skills. In this framework one of the Dutch project partner De Omslag interviewed in Amsterdam, two work integration social enterprises (WISEs): De Lokatie and De Prael.

De Lokatie is a recycling company that helps to extend the life of goods (clothes, books, etc.). It was founded in 1996 by with the aim of increasing the social prespectiv of people with psychiatric or psychosocial problems by offering them work as a stepping stone to the regular labor market. This enterprise offers various opportunities for this target group such as collecting and processing goods; unloading, loading and sorting; display, sort and sell various goods in the shop. They create structural jobs, and propose education and training for them to broaden their skills and get them into the labor market. During the visit, De Omslag observed the effort that De Lokatie made in the last two years to digitalize. The digitalization aims to streamline the work processes and to support the employees with digital programs and apps such as logistics, the pricing and sales of the goods, etc.

On the second one, De Omslag discovered the workings of De Prael. Founded in 2001, this brewery offers opportunities for people in vulnerable positions and at the moment 100 persons are working in production, beer brewery and catering. De Prael offers opportunities to support employees with digital technology in their work.

Other case studies are going on in all the countries of the project partnership, we will be able to soon present you other WISEs and their activities! A report gathering the case studies will be publish soon on B-WISE website!
